CBDT revises PAN Application Form - providing option to get printed Mothers Name on PAN Card

Option to print mother's name on PAN Card

Central Board of Direct Taxes has revised PAN Application Form 49A and 49AA vide notification dated 16th May 2014, providing a PAN applicant with an option to print mother's name on PAN Card. However, the applicant can exercise only one option as he/ she cannot have both the father and mother's name printed on PAN Card.

Kindly note that, an applicant who does not exercise his or her option, father's name will get printed on PAN Card by default.

Reserve Bank of India makes 3 new rules

1. Banks are not permitted to levy penal charges for non-maintenance of minimum balances in any inoperative account -

2. Minors above the age of 10 years may be allowed to open and operate savings bank accounts independently, if they desire. However, banks keeping in view of their risk management systems, may fix limits in terms of age and amount up to which minors may be allowed to operate the deposit accounts independently.


3. Banks are not permitted to charge foreclosure charges/ pre-payment penalties on all floating rate term loans sanctioned to individual borrowers -
